How it all started...

While heading to Oklahoma for an annual hunting trip in 2020, we got a call that whooping cranes had been spotted in "Hackberry Flats WMA" so the DNR was closing sandhill crane hunting in that zone. Not being from the area, we heard "Hackleberry Flats", which it turns out upon further research that is a common mistake. At the same time we had purchased our first property and needed a name to start our outfitter business, so the obvious choice was "Hackleberry Flats Hunt Club". It has been misspelled and mispronounced many times--Hackberry, huckleberry, etc...
